Autumn/ Winter 2018 Trends To Invest In NOW

autumn winter 2018 fashion runway trends to wear now

The Autumn/Winter 2018 trends may seem miles away, but the faster you are in fashion, the more wear you get.

They say that three is a charm and in the case of these Autumn/Winter 2018 trends, it couldn't be clearer. The latest runway collections saw these trends appear for the second time, the first being during the Spring/Summer 2017 collections.

Since hitting the runway, these trends have already been picked up by the fash pack. The result? Enough inspo and a big enough wearability factor to rock now.

Here's the Autumn/Winter trends to invest in now. Buy now and wear for seasons to come...

Embroidery

This seasons embroidery trend see's girly girls and edgy ladies alike donning embroidered details. From ditsy flowers, to retro pop art 'badges', a cheeky bit of embroidery is smack bag on my style radar.

It started off with Gucci, but judging by the Autumn/Winter 2018 trends, this arty farty detailing is here to stay! **Momentary hallelujah chorus**. So keep on grabbing that embroidery ladies, this trend is far too pretty to say no to!

 Spring/Summer 2017

Elie Saab, Shiatzy Chen, Alexander McQueen

The Spring/Summer 2017 fashion week runways were jam-packed with floral embroidery, from dainty and demure at Elie Saab, to loud street wear at Alexander McQueen.

If I see another embroidered Gucci Dionyses bag, I think I might loose my mind. My mind says yes, but my wallet (and boyfriend and mother) says 'hellll no!'. This lucky lady teams hers with Gucci sneakers (I die) and smoking hot red pants.

Note to self: buy embroidered jeans & do squats to pull them off like this.

These shoes look like they belong on the chic-est of pixies. This is hard evidence that velvet and embroidery make the most stunning of matches.

Autumn/Winter 2017-18

Marchesa, Alexander McQueen and Gucci

It seems like fashion's love affair with embroidered florals is set to continue all the way into 2018. Go for oriental prints like new season Gucci, or live the phrase 'everything is coming up roses' Marchesa style.

Checked Prints

Although Australia may be heading into Winter whilst the rest of the Western world are just starting to stock up on sunscreen, check prints are a versatile trend that transcends the seasons.

Best of all, this Autumn/Winter 2018 trend has something for everyone! Retro-loving femmes can indulge in oh-so-cute gingham, whilst plaid prints are fabulous for work and play alike.

Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, Stella McCartney, YDE

Checkerboards had made their way out of Wonderland and appeared on cute pumps and undone evening dresses.

Autumn and Winter sees all of those timeless checked and plaid prints make an appearance. Dig through your wardrobe for these babies, they are bound to be in there somewhere!

Silver

Whoever said that metallics were just for the festive period was A: unimaginative, and, B: had obviously never worn a metallic hue with sneakers.

Silver is the shiny hue worth investing in and will see you all the way to the silly season and beyond!

Spring/Summer 2017

Carla Zampatti, Isabel Marant, Balmain

Silver hues were matched with slinky shapes at Carla Zampatti and Balmain for extra sex appeal. Isabel Marant cleverly turned metallics into Summer's must-have pool shoe.

  2. Great tips, lovely Rachel! Embroidery seems like the most wearable trend because you can easily incorporate it in your accessories. I must say I'm debating whether I buy embroidered jeans or not, I'm so tempted! ANd it was oneof those trends I didn't quite 'get' at the beginning and now I'm considering it. I loved how you rock these trends, by the way! Or should I say "Guess who's rocking these trends?" ;)

  15. What a fab post, girlie! I love it because here in the US, we've recently entered in spring, so we have a couple of seasons before fall rolls around, so this gives me some insight as to what will be hot when the time comes! I'm all for embroidery and by then, I'll actually be able to fit into all the cute pieces without having to size up, haha! Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a great week so far!

  44. I love all of these fall trends! I'm glad to see that I can get some more use out of a lot of my things! LOL! I am all for embroidery and floral patterns and glad to see that that ship hasn't sailed yet! As for the check or gingham pattern, I'm just now loving some pieces I've found of that trend but the checked print pants you included are absolutely incredible and I NEED them! I love metallics and love incorporating them into my accessories! Such a fun post and I really love the way you included personal, street style, and runway looks!

  49. You hit every trend right on the nail so perfectly! On the whole embroidery trend, I'm with you about all the Gucci dionysus bags lol! In theory they look so beautiful (and on select bloggers, including yourself, as well!), but personally it's just not my cup of tea. I guess I'll just have to admire it from afar :) (Ok I might make one exception for those gorgeous embroidered flats- total hearts eyes!) BUT I am totally loving the checkered/ gingham trend lately as anyone can wear them. The silver trend is so chic as well. Metallics instantly add such a chic-factor, and silver even more so than gold in my opinion. You chose so many gorgeous examples, and I'll definitely have to copy some of them hehe
