6 Jewellery Trends You Totally Need To Invest In

You don't need to be Steven Hawking to know that sometimes all it takes is a piece of jewellery to transform an outfit from dud to lush. Today I've rounded up the six hottest jewellery trends of the season for you to enjoy. Shine bright like a diamond!

The Double Earrings

It all started with Dior and those lush double sided pearls.... then it exploded. Ear jackets, backwards drop earrings, thread drops.... Just pop a back on it an your on the right track!

If your feeling classic, try a double stud a la Dior.

In more of an experimental mood? Go for a Loewe-inspired optical illusion and choose a piece that literally looks like it's travelling through your ear.

My pick? Dior's oversized, asymmetric ear jackets.

 My Style

If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't it's @thedailyluxe ;) ) you will know that I am absolutely addicted to double earrings. If I had to round it down to three favorites, it would be my through-ear, white crystal shards, my pearl-spike drops and my elongated leaf ear jackets.

The Body Chain

If you're a fan of embellishing unusual areas, the body chain is one for you to invest in. Wrapping around the neck and waist, the body chain adds a little bit of a beachy-bohemian vibe to a plain ensemble. Layer it up with statement necklaces for an extra bold look.

Anna Sui's woodstock-inspired body chains were detailed, colourful and totally hippy in equal part.

Versace's body chains, on the other hand, looked more like props from 'Fifty Shades Of Grey.'

Take your pick, but I know which one I'll be rocking...

My Style

If you are a regular reader, you will recognize this statement, crystal-embellished body chain. It's one of my favorite current pieces and can instantly transform a simple tee or dress into something worthy of a street style snap.

The Fringe Piece

Well this jewellery trend should come as no surprise to the seasoned fashionista, after all, fringes are literally everywhere this season. So why not inject some 70s into your outfit with a fringed jewellery piece?

Tom Ford replaced fringes boho roots with a more elegant, Gothic look that saw high-shine fringe earrings in glistening black tones.

Nina Ricci kept things simple with small, gold chain fringes hanging dramatically from the wrist.

As a total fringe addict, you can sign me up for one of everything: pronto!

My Style
This long and luscious suedette fringe necklace is an absolute bohemian dream. It ticks all the boxes: choker, 70s, boho and fringe. Plus, the deep brown colour means it goes with almost everything in the 'drobe!

The Stacked Rings

Forget one, huge statement ring, this trend is all about layering up that finger candy! If your a total beginner, try investing in a ring set in silver or gold.

If you want a very statement look, mix whenever and whatever you want. Stones, gems, different shapes... it's all good!

Chanel kept their stacked rings dainty and simple, with slim, silver bands adorning the models fingers.

Dior, on the other hand, layered chunky statement rings with large, stone facets.

My Style

I see no harm in mixing gold and silver tones: the more the merrier! I like to mix different shapes, sizes and textures and stack multiple rings on one finger. Cha-ching!

The Metal Choker
A more grown up alternative to last years 90s chokers, these babies are all about the high shine metal. So, yep; it's time to ditch the tattoo chokers and overdoses of ying and yang signs. Finally!

Christian Dior presented a literal dog collar, albeit an incredibly chic one, with high-shine silver  chokers.

Balenciaga went for a more ethereal approach with rows of leaves adorning the neck.

But perhaps my favorite take on this seasons choker was at Balmain. A clever combination of transparent resin and shiny metal, this futuristic look would add an instant quirk to any get up.

My Style

Although these photos may suggest that chokers literally bore me to sleep, I can't get enough of them! I have two high-shine, statement gold pieces that just add an instant Grecian goddess vibe to any look. Plus: You can wear them with any neckline! Score. Maybe it's time to invest in a silver one?

Wooden Jewellery

Another element of 70s boho is being revived through wooden jewellery. Although it may be quite heavy, look on the bright side: it won't tarnish and wooden brown tones go with everything. Although, I wouldn't wear them with your wedding dress...

Go for chunky brown beads mixed with exotically coloured strands as seen on Etro for a summery vibe that you can add to your look year round.

Want a more ethnic look? Take inspiration from Stella Jean and add animal shapes, tassels and resin to your wooden jewellery for a look that screams 'world traveler'.

My Style
In my opinion, wood and gold metal make some darn beautiful babies together, and these hoop earrings are no exception. Although once I swore I would never EVER wear hoops, the thick wooden material and gold fringe detailing make them more sophisticated and less stripper.

  2. Rachel I think you just hit all of these major jewelry trends right on the head. What an excellent way to do it via the runway photos and your own personal style mixed in. I especially love the fringe (seriously obsessed with your necklace) and the double sided earrings as produced by Dior ;) Hope you are having a lovely weekend!

With regard to the trends, I love the body chain trend and if I had pierced ears, I'd most definitely be decorating and heavily embellishing my ears right now haha :)

  62. I am not necessarily a fan of the "metal choker", even though I agree that it is in trend. I think it hides too much of one's neck. However, I have to say that I love your double earrings. I have similar ones which I wear only on special occasions because they are diamond earrings and very valuable to me. Don't want to loose them.
