Style Icons Of The Past and Present

It's no unknown fact that trends are recycled constantly. Is anyone else craving 70s floral prints right now? But what about style icons? Throughout the age of the 'celebrity', style icons with similar signature styles seem to pop up in every generation. So if you're confused as to whether your mum compares Cara Delevigne's edgy style to punk icons like Joan Jett, read on...

The Bohemian Beauty
The bohemian style icon is addicted to flow freeing shapes, floral, crochet and anything with tassels. Peace out!
1960s- Talitha Getty
2000s- The Olsen Twins

Now- Fashion blogger, Jessica Stein

The Bombshell
Sexy, but still classy, the bombshell is the fashionista that you will catch your boyfriend googling...
1960s- Bridgit Bardot

1980s- Jerry Hall

Now- Kim Kardashian

The Preppy Princess
Proof that school uniforms never fall out of style is evident in the preppy princess. Collared shirts, plaid, stripes and blazers have been evident for decades in these style icons:
1960s- Audrey Hepburn

1990s- Cher Horowitz from Clueless

Now- Alexa Chung

The Rocker Chick
This groupie girl loves mussed up hair, skull embellishments and lashings of kohl eyeliner.

1970s: Joan Jett

 1990s: Winona Ryder
Now: Cara Delevigne

The Proper Lady
This style icon is classy, but still glamorous. She dresses with a sense of power.

1920s- Coco Chanel

1960s- Jackie Kennedy

Now- Victoria Beckham

The Girly Girl
This ultra-feminine style wouldn't look out of place in a dolls wardrobe. These ladies love pastels, lace and an abundance of polka dots.
1920s- Clara Bow

1950s- Grace Kelly

Present- Taylor Swift

P.s. The lovely Gabrielle from 'A Glass Of Ice' tagged me in  'The Beauty Scenario', the questions were pretty funny, so, yeah.. here it goes:

The Beauty Scenario Tag

You have to get rid of all of your foundations and only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?
Ah... That's an easy one, my high end would be Estee Lauder double wear, it has perfect coverage but doesn't look too cakey. My drug store would be a new one I've discovered from a new brand called Elf. It's such awesome quality for the price.

You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth.  Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?

Oh gosh... I would ignore it and find it reallyyy hard not to look at her teeth! I think saying something would maybe ruin your chances of getting the job? Unless you said that honesty was your best asset- haha!

You're not feeling yourself and you need a pick-me-up lipstick, which do you go for?

Like the poor lady above lipstick ALWAYS seems to end up on my teeth. So I would go for my Revlon Colourstay Stain in Shanghai Sizzle.

You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair or makeup differently?
EVERYTHING! I would tell myself that two inch thick aqua eyeliner is not cool. Oh... and I had a mullet- 'nuff said.

You ask your hairdresser for for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut but they hear wrong and give you a pixie cut, what do you do?

A) Smile, say thank you, call your mum and cry hysterically

B) Cry in the chair and things get awkward ✓ Then beg them to give me free hair extensions.

C) Complain to the manager and demand a refund

Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have one hour to pack, which 'Do It All' palette do you pack in your makeup bag?

Benefit's 'Smokin Eyes', you can't beat a nice smoked eye!

Your house has been robbed, don't worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided.  What's the product you really hope is safe?

I'm not sure if this counts as beauty but my Acqia De Goia by Armani fragrance- it literally smells like happy ocean times!

Your friend borrows makeup and returns it in an awful condition.  Do you:

A) Pretend you haven't noticed ✓Accidents happen

B) Ask them to re-purchase it

C) Secretly do it back to their makeup
