Candy Crush? Totally! The New Pastel Tones...

It seems like every single season one trend is stuck on the repeat button: pastels! As a self-confessed girly-girl I'm always happy to see the return of sorbet tones to the runway, what better way to utilize my already-existing wardrobe while having the excuse to dress like a princess?

But this seasons pastel tones have a cooler twist. Think duck egg blues and cool lilac tones, a slight turn away from past season preferences of dusky pink. The new palette takes pastels and places them in a more 'grown up' context, from oversized work blazers to fitted pencil skirts, pastels no longer portray the 'little girl' vibe.

Got a sweet tooth? Check out these pretty pieces from New York Fashion Week:
(From left) Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung and Rebecca Taylor embrace the new cooler toned pastels.

How To Ulitize Your Previous Season's Pieces
As my boyfriends put me on a strict shopping ban (thanks babe), I searched through my wardrobe for existing pieces that I could use to rock this 'new pastel' look.

Top: Valley Girl
Skort: Ebay
Necklace: Target
Bag: Vintage
Sunnies: K Mart
Shoes: Big W

The most important thing is to focus on your textures. Forget the lacey, girly-girl past seasons and embrace a more grown up look with crepes, chiffons and polyester shirt fabrics. You can still be girly with this look, just tone down bows and sparkles with plainer fabrics to keep it looking classy.

This Season's Wish List
I WANT these as soon as my shopping ban gets lifted! But you guys can buy these right now- jealous!!!!

  2. Pastels are looking good to me! I've never been a fan of having them on my nails even though that too has been a springtime trend as far as I have seen - but they do look good on the runaway. The wishlist jumpsuit looks awesome <3
